The curfew for rural areas in Vermilion Parish will be lifted on Friday.

Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon says that the rescinding of the curfew for those rural areas is in consideration of numerous businesses opening with certain restrictions set forth by the Governor’s office to re-open the economy,

Sheriff Couvillion will be lifting the curfew that applies to the rural areas of Vermilion Parish effective May 1, 2020.

The Sheriff’s Office reiterates that citizens should check with their local municipalities and confirm whether or not curfews will remain in effect after May 01 within the different city limits of Vermilion parish and to not confuse municipal curfews with the Sheriff’s curfew.

A list of curfews still in place in Acadiana can be found here.
