COVID-19: State update - 406,235 cases and 9,006 deaths

As of Feb. 3, the number of total coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 2,046 and there have been 53 new deaths, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

Of these cases, 1,198 are confirmed cases and 848 are probable cases.

The total number of cases reported to the state Wednesday is 406,235. The current total death count is 9,006.

The collection dates for most of these cases (87.5%) fall between January 26 and February 2, 2021. 99% of the cases reported to the state today were community spread. 1% of the cases reported to the state today were in congregate settings.

As of Tuesday, February 2, there have been 487,705 vaccinations have been administered. In LDH Region 4, which includes Acadiana, 38,573 vaccine series have been initiated. These numbers will be updated again on Thursday, February 4.

On Mondays, LDH usually releases the week's list of providers across the state that would have COVID vaccines available for those 70 year old and up and others within the current priority. Residents wanting to receive a vaccine at those locations were required to make an appointment. For more information, click here.

LDH reports that 363,457 patients are "presumed recovered." (These numbers are normally updated on Mondays. The last update was on 02/01/21).

Since Tuesday, 33,650 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 5,412,079. Of the tests reported today, 26,280 were PCR tests and 7,370 were antigen tests.

LDH reports that 1,386 patients were hospitalized across the state (down 54 from Tuesday); 180 of those patients were on ventilators (down 9 from Tuesday).

Across Acadiana, there were 290 new cases and 6 new deaths since Tuesday.

As of Feb. 2, the number of total coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 2,580 and there have been 41 new deaths, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

Of these cases, 1,597 are confirmed cases and 983 are probable cases.

The total number of cases reported to the state Tuesday is 404,194. The current total death count is 8,953.

The collection dates for most of these cases (92.2%) fall between January 25 and February 1, 2021. 98% of the cases reported to the state today were community spread. 2% of the cases reported to the state today were in congregate settings.

The collection dates for most of these cases (99.7%) fall between January 24 and January 31, 2021. 98% of the cases reported to the state today were community spread. 2% of the cases reported to the state today were in congregate settings.

As of Thursday, January 28, there have been 397,371 vaccinations have been administered. In LDH Region 4, which includes Acadiana, 34,706 vaccine series have been initiated. These numbers will be updated again on Tuesday, February 2.

As of Jan. 31, the number of total coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 3,355 and there have been 58 new deaths, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

The total number of cases reported to the state is 400,626. The current total death count is 8,859.

Of these cases, 2,620 are confirmed cases and 735 are probable cases.

NOTE: The state does not report numbers on Saturdays. That means these changes reflect two days of numbers, not one.

92.1% of these newly reported cases date back to the past week (1/23-1/30). These cases are out of 48,745 newly reported tests (42,749 molecular, 5,996 antigen). These cases come from all regions of the state and all age groups, and the vast majority (more than 80 percent) are community spread-related cases.
