COVID-19: State update - 348,234 cases and 7,833 deaths

As of Jan. 11, the number of total coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 1,402 and the number of deaths had increased by 45, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

Of these cases, 1,297 are confirmed cases and 105 are probable cases.

The total coronavirus case count in the state on MONDAY was 348,234 cases. The current total death count is 7,918.

The collection dates for most of these cases (98.4%) fall between Jan. 4 and Jan. 11, 2021. About 96% of the cases reported to the state Monday were community spread.

Also, 4% of the cases reported to the state today were in congregate settings. Individuals between the ages of 18 and 29 (17%) and between the ages of 30 and 39 (17%) account for 34% of these cases.

As of Thursday, January 7, 81,585 vaccinations have been administered. This data is updated twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The next update will be Tuesday, January 12.

On Monday, LDH released this week's list of providers across the state that would have COVID vaccines available for those 70 year old and up and others within the current priority. Residents wanting to receive a vaccine at those locations were required to make an appointment. For more information,click here.

LDH reports that 280,373 patients are "presumed recovered." (These numbers are normally updated on Mondays. The last update was on 01/04/20).

Since yesterday, 13,254 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 4,674,395. Of the tests reported today, 12,756 were PCR tests and 498 were antigen tests.

LDH reports that 1,982 patients were hospitalized across the state (up 22 from Sunday), 232 of those patients were on ventilators (up 7 from Sun+day).

Across Acadiana, there were 129 new cases and 4 new deaths since Sunday.

As of Jan. 10, the number of total coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 5,413 and the number of deaths had increased by 40, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

Of these cases, 4,426 are confirmed cases and 987 are probable cases.

NOTE: The state does not report numbers on Saturdays; that means these numbers reflect two days of reporting.

The total coronavirus case count in the state on SUNDAY was 346,829 cases. The current total death count is 7,873.

96% of the cases reported to the state today were community spread. 4% of the cases reported to the state today were in congregate settings. Individuals between the ages of 18 and 29 (19%) and between the ages of 30 and 39 (15%) account for 34% of these cases.

Since Friday, 52,294 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 4,661,141. Of the tests reported today, 45,778 were PCR tests and 6,516 were antigen tests.

LDH reports that 1,960 patients were hospitalized across the state (down 109 from Friday), 225 of those patients were on ventilators (up 5 from Friday).

Across Acadiana, there were 937 new cases and 15 new deaths since Friday.
