COVID-19: State update - 322,181 cases and 7,585 deaths.

As of Jan. 4, the number of total coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 1,190 and the number of deaths had increased by 48, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

Of these cases, 1,139 are confirmed cases and 51 are probable cases.

The total coronavirus case count in the state on Sunday was 322,181 cases. The current total death count is 7,585.

LDH says that the vast majority (98%) of these newly reported cases are tied to community spread versus spread in congregate settings. 99.9% of these newly reported cases happened between (12/27-1/3)

These newly reported cases are from all age groups and regions of the state. According to LDH, the greatest share of reported cases come from the Greater Orleans area (34%).

As of Thursday, Dec. 31, 45,289 vaccinations have been administered. This data is updated twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The next update will be Tuesday, January 5.

On Monday, LDH released the list of 107 pharmacies across the state that would have COVID vaccines available for those 70 year old and up. Residents wanting to receive a vaccine at those locations were required to make an appointment. For more information, click here.

LDH reports that 263,712 patients are "presumed recovered." (These numbers are normally updated on Mondays. The last update was on 12/28/20).

Since Sunday, 9,562 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 4,453,631.

LDH reports that 1,891 patients were hospitalized across the state (up 58 from Sunday), 207 of those patients were on ventilators (up 3 from Sunday).

Across Acadiana, there were 144 new cases and 9 new deaths since Sunday.

As of Jan. 3, the number of total coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 5,780 and the number of deaths had increased by 49, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

NOTE: In observance of New Year’s Day LDH, did update the dashboard on Friday, January 1, and numbers are no reported on Saturdays. These numbers are for three days, not two.

The total coronavirus case count in the state on Sunday was 321,058 cases. The current total death count is 7,537.

The vast majority (97%) of these newly reported cases are tied to community spread versus spread in congregate settings. 99.7% of these newly reported cases date back to this past week (12/26-1/2). These newly reported cases are from all age groups and regions of the state, with the greatest share coming from the Greater Orleans area (27%).

As of Thursday, Dec. 31, 45,289 vaccinations have been administered. This data is updated twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. LDH reports that 263,712 patients are "presumed recovered." (These numbers are normally updated on Mondays. The last update was on 12/28/20).

Since Thursday, 43,920 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 4,444,069.

LDH reports that 1,833 patients were hospitalized across the state (up 102 from Thursday), 204 of those patients were on ventilators (up 2 from Thursday).

Across Acadiana, there were 758 new cases and 12 new deaths since Thursday.

As of Dec. 31, the number of total coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 4,051 and the number of deaths had increased by 40, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

NOTE: In observance of New Year’s Day LDH will not be updating the dashboard on Friday, January 1. LDH will resume updates on Sunday, January 3 as normal.

The total coronavirus case count in the state on Thursday was 315,275 cases. The current total death count is 7,488.

On Tuesday, Dec. 22, LDH added COVID-19 vaccination data to its COVID-19 dashboard. As of Thursday, Dec. 31, 45,289 vaccinations have been administered. This data will be updated twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

LDH reports that 263,712 patients are "presumed recovered." (These numbers are normally updated on Mondays. The last update was on 12/28/20).

Since Wednesday, 32,607 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 4,400,149.

LDH reports that 1,731 patients were hospitalized across the state (up 14 from Wednesday), 202 of those patients were on ventilators (down 8 from Wednesday).

Across Acadiana, there were 792 news cases and 8 new deaths since Wednesday.

FROM WEDNESDAY:

As of Dec. 30, the number of total coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 6,754 and the number of deaths had increased by 51, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

Of these cases, 4,214 are confirmed cases and 2,540 are probable cases.

LDH says that Wednesday's update does NOT contain a backlog of cases. This is the highest number of daily cases reported to date in Louisiana that does not contain a backlog nor two days of reporting, they said. The previous highest number of cases reported was 4,339 new cases on December 9.

The total coronavirus case count in the state on Wednesday was 311,229 cases. The current total death count is 7,448.

On Tuesday, Dec. 22, LDH added COVID-19 vaccination data to its COVID-19 dashboard. As of Tuesday, Dec. 29, 37,969 vaccinations have been administered. This data will be updated twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The collection dates for most of these cases (90.7%) fall between December 22 and December 29, 2020. 95% of the cases reported to the state today were community spread. 5% of the cases reported to the state today were in congregate settings.

Individuals between the ages of 18 and 29 (18%) and between the ages of 30 and 39 (17%) account for 35% of these cases.

LDH reports that 247,501 patients are "presumed recovered." (These numbers are normally updated on Mondays. The last update was on 12/21`/20).

Since Tuesday, 52,109 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 4,367,542. Of the tests reported today, 40,177 were PCR tests and 11,932 were antigen tests.

LDH reports that 1,717 patients were hospitalized across the state (up 28 from Tuesday), 210 of those patients were on ventilators (down 8 from Tuesday).

As of Dec. 29, the number of total coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 3,946 and the number of deaths had increased by 61, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

Of these cases, 3,060 are confirmed cases and 886 are probable cases.

The total coronavirus case count in the state on Tuesday was 304,485 cases. The current total death count is 7,397.

LDH says that because of the daily removal of newly identified duplicates and out of state cases, the new case increase may not match the difference between today’s and yesterday's total case count.

On Tuesday, Dec. 22, LDH added COVID-19 vaccination data to its COVID-19 dashboard. As of Tuesday, Dec. 29, 37,969 vaccinations have been administered. This data will be updated twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The collection dates for all of Tuesday's cases (99.5%) fall between Dec. 21 and Dec. 28, 2020. LDH says that 97% of the cases reported to the state Tuesday were community spread and 3% of the cases reported to the state today were in congregate settings.

Individuals between the ages of 18 and 29 (19%) and between the ages of 30 and 39 (18%) account for 37% of these cases.

LDH reports that 247,501 patients are "presumed recovered." (These numbers are normally updated on Mondays. The last update was on 12/21`/20).

Since Monday, 37,356 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 4,315,433. Of the tests reported Tuesday, 33,104 were PCR tests and 4,252 were antigen tests.

As of Monday, Dec. 28, LDH reports that 1,689 patients were hospitalized across the state (up 92 from Monday), 218 of those patients were on ventilators (up 17 from Monday).

In LDH Region 4 - Acadiana, there were 195 patients that were hospitalized as of Dec. 28 with 19 of them on ventilators.

Across Acadiana, there were 86 news cases and 10 new deaths since Sunday.

As of Dec. 28, the number of total coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 823 and the number of deaths had increased by 45, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

Of these cases, 732 are confirmed cases and 91 are probable cases.

The total coronavirus case count in the state on Monday was 300,539 cases. The current total death count is 7,336.

On Tuesday, December 22, the Department added COVID-19 vaccination data to its COVID-19 dashboard. To date, 32,766 vaccinations have been administered. This data will be updated twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The collection dates for all of Monday's cases (100%) fall between December 20 and December 27, 2020. 99 percent of the cases reported to the state today were community spread and 1 percent of the cases reported to the state today were in congregate settings.

Individuals between the ages of 18 and 29 (16%) and between the ages of 30 and 39 (19%) account for 35% of these cases.

LDH reports that 247,501 patients are "presumed recovered." (These numbers are normally updated on Mondays. The last update was on 12/21`/20).

Since Sunday, 5,878 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 4,278,077. Of the tests reported today, 5,428 were PCR tests and 450 were antigen tests.

As of Monday, 1,597 patients were hospitalized across the state (up 67 from Sunday), 201 of those patients were on ventilators (up 10 from Sunday).
