COVID-19: State update - 225,638 cases and 6,350 deaths

As of November 25, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 1,234 and the number of deaths had increased by 27, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

Of these cases, 1,001 are confirmed cases and 233 are probable cases.

The total number of cases in the state is now at 225,638 and the number of deaths is 6,350 as of Wednesday.

The collection dates for most of these cases fall between November 17 and November 24, 2020. 95 percent of the cases reported to the state Wednesday were community spread and 5 percent of the cases reported were in congregate settings.

LDH says that in observance of Thanksgiving, the dashboard will not be updated on Thursday, November 26. Normal updates will resume on Friday.

LDH reports that 192,488 patients are "presumed recovered." (These numbers are normally updated on Mondays. The last update was on 11/23/20).

Since Tuesday, 15,879 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 3,397,674. These total tests have been broken down into 3,299,304 molecular and 98,370 antigen tests.

As of Wednesday, 1,077 patients were hospitalized (up 25 from Tuesday), 116 of those patients were on ventilators (up 3 from Tuesday).

Since Tuesday, 272 Acadiana residents have tested positive, and 3 have died.

From Monday:

As of November 24, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 3,266 and the number of deaths had increased by 39, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

Of these cases, 2,111 are confirmed cases and 1,155 are probable cases.

The total number of cases in the state is now at 224,403 and the number of deaths is 6,323 as of Tuesday.

LDH reports that 185,960 patients are "presumed recovered." (These numbers are normally updated on Mondays. The last update was on 11/16/20).

Since Monday, 40,054 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 3,381,795. These total tests have been broken down into 3,285,195 molecular and 96,600 antigen tests.

As of Tuesday, 1,052 patients were hospitalized (up 40 from Monday), 113 of those patients were on ventilators (down 1 from Monday).

Since Monday, 790 Acadiana residents have tested positive, and 11 have died.
