NOTE: In observance of Veteran's Day, the Louisiana Department of Health will not update its COVID-19 dashboard or other data reporting on Wednesday, November 11. The dashboard and other reports will be updated on Thursday, November 12.
In addition, the Department will pause COVID reporting on the following holidays through the end of the year: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.
As of November 10, the number of coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 1,307 and the number of deaths had increased by 10, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.
LDH states that because of the daily removal of newly identified duplicates and out of state cases, the new case increase may not match the difference between Tuesday’s and Monday's total case count. The collection dates for most of these cases fall between Nov. 3 - 9, 2020.
LDH says that 96% of the cases reported to the state Tuesday were community spread, while 4% of the cases reported to the state Tuesday were in congregate settings.
LDH reports that 172,210 patients are "presumed recovered." (These numbers are normally updated on Mondays. The last update was on 11/2/20).
People aged 29 and under represent 41% of these cases, while 30% are individuals between 18-29.
Since Monday, 26,460 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 2,919,903.
As of Tuesday, 684 patients were hospitalized (up 32 from Monday), 66 of those patients were on ventilators (down 5 from Monday).
