COVID-19: State update - 186,695 cases and 5,787 deaths

As of November 6, the number of coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 855 and the number of deaths had increased by 21, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

The total number of cases in the state is now at 186,695 and the number of deaths is 5,787 as of Friday. The collection dates for most of these cases fall between October 30 and November 5, 2020.

LDH says that 95% of the cases reported to the state today were community spread. 5% of the cases reported to the state today were in congregate settings.

LDH reports that 172,210 patients are "presumed recovered." (These numbers are normally updated on Mondays. The last update was on 11/2/20).

Since Thursday, 18,810 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 2,861,456.

As of Friday, 644 patients were hospitalized (up 8 from Thursday), 81 of those patients were on ventilators (down 1 from Thursday).

FROM Thursday:

As of November 5, the number of coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 740 and the number of deaths had increased by 20, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

The total number of cases in the state is now at 185,825 and the number of deaths is 5,766 as of Thursday.

LDH says that the collection dates for most of these cases fall between October 29 and November 4, 2020. 90 percent of the cases reported to the state Thursday were community spread and 10 percent of the cases reported to the state were in congregate settings.

LDH reports that 172,210 patients are "presumed recovered." (These numbers are normally updated on Mondays. The last update was on 11/2/20).

Since Wednesday, 21,747 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 2,842,646.

As of Thursday, 636 patients were hospitalized (up 14 from Wednesday), 82 of those patients were on ventilators (up 5 from Wednesday).
