COVID-19: State update - 185,144 cases and 5,746 deaths

As of November 4, the number of coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 371 and the number of deaths had increased by 9, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

The total number of cases in the state is now at 185,144 and the number of deaths is 5,746 as of Wednesday.

LDH says that the collection dates for most of these cases fall between October 28 and November 3, 2020. 98 percent of the cases reported to the state Wednesday were community spread and 2 percent of the cases reported to the state were in congregate settings.

LDH reports that 172,210 patients are "presumed recovered." (These numbers are normally updated on Mondays. The last update was on 11/2/20).

Since Tuesday, 7,418 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 2,820,899.

As of Wednesday, 623 patients were hospitalized (up 4 from Tuesday), 77 of those patients were on ventilators (down 7 from Tuesday).

St. Martin - 2,273 cases (down 10) | 64 deaths (no change)

St. Mary - 2,047 cases (up 3) | 87 deaths (no change)

Vermilion - 2,147 (no change) | 70 deaths (no change)

FROM TUESDAY:

As of November 3, the number of coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 1,150 and the number of deaths had increased by 17, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

The total number of cases in the state is now at 184,769 and the number of deaths is 5,737 as of Tuesday.

LDH reports that 168,634 patients are "presumed recovered." (These numbers are normally updated on Mondays. The last update was on 10/26/20).

Since Monday, 29,376 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 2,813,481.

As of Tuesday, 619 patients were hospitalized (up 23 from Monday), 84 of those patients were on ventilators (up 14 from Monday).
