COVID-19: State update - 181,837 cases and 5,694 deaths

As of October 29, the number of coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 392 and the number of deaths had increased by 18, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

The total number of cases in the state is now at 181,837 and the number of deaths is 5,694 as of Thursday.

LDH says that the collection dates for most of these cases fall between October 22 and October 28, 2020. 96 percent of the cases reported to the state Thursday were community spread and 4 percent of the cases reported to the state were in congregate settings.

LDH reports that 168,634 patients are "presumed recovered." (These numbers are normally updated on Mondays. The last update was on 10/26/20).

Since Wednesday, 13,396 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 2,747,418.

According to LDH, 612 people are currently hospitalized across the state (down 1 from Wednesday), and 79 of those are on ventilators (down 1 from Wednesday).

St. Mary - 2,027 cases (up 6) | 86 deaths (no change)

Vermilion - 2,129 (no change ) | 70 deaths (no change)

As of October 28, the number of coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 503 and the number of deaths had increased by 10, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

The total number of cases in the state is now at 181,443 and the number of deaths is 5,676 as of Wednesday.

LDH reports that 165,282 patients are "presumed recovered." (These numbers are normally updated on Mondays. The last update was on 10/19/20).

Since Tuesday, 14,478 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 2,734,022.

According to LDH, 613 people are currently hospitalized across the state (up 10 from Tuesday), and 80 of those are on ventilators (down 11 from Tuesday).
