COVID-19: State update - 176,681 cases and 5,572 deaths

As of October 20, the number of coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 685 and the number of deaths had increased by 6, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

The total number of cases in the state is now at 176,681 and the number of deaths is 5,572 as of Tuesday.

LDH says that the collection dates for most of these cases fall between October 12 and October 19, 2020. 95 percent of the cases reported to the state Tuesday were community spread and 5 percent of the cases reported to the state were in congregate settings.

LDH reports that 161,792 patients are "presumed recovered." (These numbers are normally updated on Mondays; last update 10/12/20).

Since Monday, 18,993 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 2,613,369.

According to LDH, 586 people are currently hospitalized (up 33 from Monday), and 62 of those are on ventilators ( down 2 from Monday).

As of October 19, the number of coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 202 and the number of deaths had increased by 16, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

The total number of cases in the state is now at 175,982 and the number of deaths is 5,566 as of Monday.

LDH reports that 161,792 patients are "presumed recovered." (These numbers are normally updated on Mondays; last update 10/12/20).

Since Sunday, 4,866 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 2,594,376.

According to LDH, 553 people are currently hospitalized (up 3 from Sunday), and 64 of those are on ventilators ( up 4 from Sunday).
