COVID-19: State update - 173,864 cases and 5,507 deaths

As of October 15, the number of coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 823 and the number of deaths had increased by 12, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

The total number of cases in the state is now at 173,864 and the number of deaths is 5,507 as of Thursday.

LDH says that the collection dates for most of these cases fall between October 7 and October 14, 2020. 94 percent of the cases reported to the state Thursday were community spread and 6 percent of the cases reported to the state were in congregate settings.

LDH reports that 161,792 patients are "presumed recovered." (These numbers are normally updated on Mondays; last update 10/12/20).

Since Wednesday, 26,284 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 2,542,919.

According to LDH, 566 people are currently hospitalized (down 16 from Wednesday), and 61 of those are on ventilators (down 3 from Wednesday).

As of October 14, the number of coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 331 and the number of deaths had increased by 9, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

The total number of cases in the state is now at 173,121 and the number of deaths is 5,495 as of Wednesday.

LDH reports that 161,792 patients are "presumed recovered." (These numbers are normally updated on Mondays; last update 10/12/20).

Since Tuesday, 6,316 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 2,516,635.

According to LDH, 582 people are currently hospitalized (up 9 from Tuesday), and 64 of those are on ventilators (down 4 from Tuesday).
