COVID-19: State update - 156,174 cases and 5,032 deaths

As of September 11, the number of coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 844 and the number of deaths had increased by 41, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

The total number of cases in the state is now at 156,174 and the number of deaths is 5,032 as of Friday.

LDH says that collection collection dates for most of these cases fall between September 3 and September 10, 2020. 81 percent of the cases reported to the state Friday were community spread.

LDH reports that 140,440 patients are "presumed recovered." (These numbers are normally updated on Mondays; last update 09/07/20).

Since Thursday, 27,234 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 2,036,818.

According to LDH, 723 people are currently hospitalized (down 39 from Thursday), and 117 of those are on ventilators (down 8 from Thursday).

St. Mary - 1,812 cases (up 5) | 75 deaths (up 1)

Vermilion - 1,967 (up 5) | 53 deaths (up 3)

FROM THURSDAY:

As of September 10, the number of coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 499 and the number of deaths had increased by 21, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

The total number of cases in the state is now at 155,419 and the number of deaths is 4,991 as of Thursday.

LDH reports that 140,440 patients are "presumed recovered." (These numbers are normally updated on Mondays; last update 09/07/20).

Since Wednesday, 10,557 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 2,009,584.

According to LDH, 762 people are currently hospitalized (down 20 from Wednesday), and 125 of those are on ventilators (up 2 from Wednesday).
