COVID-19: State update - 151,473 cases and 4,872 deaths

As of September 4, the number of coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 828 and the number of deaths had increased by 14, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

The total number of cases in the state is now at 151,473 and 4,872 deaths as of Friday.

LDH says that the collection dates for most of these cases fall between August 27 and September 3, 2020. 85 percent of the cases reported to the state on Friday were community spread.

LDH reports that 134,432 patients are "presumed recovered." (last update 8/31/20).

Since Thursday, 15,545 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 1,931,748.

According to LDH, 808 people are currently hospitalized (down 43 from Thursday), and 96 of those are on ventilators (down 32 from Thursday).

According to the UL Lafayette COVID-19 Dashboard, 2 students tested positive for COVID-19 for the week of Aug. 30. UL reports 56 students and 27 staff for a total of 83 have tested positive at UL since March 16.

As of September 3, the number of coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 884 and the number of deaths had increased by 17, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

The total number of cases in the state is now at 150,651 and 4,858 deaths as of Thursday.

LDH reports that 134,432 patients are "presumed recovered." (last update 8/31/20).

Since Wednesday, 12,320 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 1,916,203.

According to LDH, 851 people are currently hospitalized (down 22 from Wednesday), and 128 of those are on ventilators (down 4 from Wednesday).
