COVID-19: State update - 133,125 coronavirus cases, 4,195 deaths

As of August 11, the number of coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 1,164 and the number of deaths had increased by 26, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

The total number of cases in the state is now at 133,125 and 4,195 deaths as of Tuesday.

LDH says the collection dates for most of Tuesday's cases fall between August 4, 2020 and August 11, 2020. 84 percent of the cases reported to the state on Tuesday were community spread and 26 percent are of individuals aged 29 and under.

LDH is reporting that 89,083 coronavirus patients are "presumed recovered" (updated weekly, last updated 8/03/20).

The LDH reports that 1,335 people are hospitalized (down 47 from Monday). Of those, 214 required ventilators (down 1 from Monday).

FROM MONDAY:

As of August 10, the number of coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 562 and the number of deaths had increased by 24, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

The Department of Health says that Laboratory reporting appears to be incomplete and is potentially affecting case and test counts. Technical staff are reportedly investigating.

The total number of cases in the state is now at 131,961 and 4,169 deaths as of Monday.

LDH is reporting that 89,083 coronavirus patients are "presumed recovered" (updated weekly, last updated 8/03/20).

The LDH reports that 1,382 people are hospitalized (down 1 from Sunday). Of those, 215 required ventilators (up 5 from Sunday).

On Saturday, July 18, the Louisiana Department of Health announced it will no longer be updating information on the COVID-19 dashboard on Saturdays. Information will be updated at noon daily except on Saturdays.
