COVID-19: State update - 101,650 coronavirus cases, 3,574 deaths

As of July 23, the number of coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 2,296 and the number of deaths had increased by 16, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

The total number of cases in the state is now at 101,650 and 3,574 deaths as of Thursday.

According to LDH, 91percent of the cases reported to the state on Thursday were community spread and 33 percent of the cases reported are of individuals aged 29 and under.

The collection dates for most of Thursday's cases fell between July 16, 2020 and July 23, 2020, LDH reports.

LDH is reporting that 61,456 coronavirus patients are "presumed recovered" (updated weekly, last updated 7/19/20).

The LDH reports that 1,585 people are hospitalized (up 4 from Wednesday). Of those, 197 required ventilators (up 8 from Wednesday).

Jefferson Davis - 859 cases (up 14) | 22 deaths (up 2)

Lafayette - 5,458 cases (up 119) | 71 deaths (up 4)

St. Landry - 1,737 cases (up 82) | 68 deaths (up 1)

St. Martin - 1,353 cases (up 20) | 34 deaths (up 2)

St. Mary - 1,215 cases (up 26) | 40 deaths (up 1)

Vermilion - 969 cases (up 22) | 12 deaths (no change)

On Saturday, July 18, the Louisiana Department of Health announced it will no longer be updating information on the COVID-19 dashboard on Saturdays. Information will be updated at noon daily except on Saturdays.

As of July 22, the number of coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 2,802 and 60 additional deaths with 20 right here in Acadiana, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

The total number of cases in the state is now at 99,354 and 3,558 deaths as of Wednesday.

LDH is reporting that 61,456 coronavirus patients are "presumed recovered" (updated weekly, last updated 7/19/20).

The LDH reports that 1,581 people are hospitalized (up 54 from Tuesday). Of those, 188 required ventilators (up 2 from Tuesday).
