COVID-19 cases up to 171; 4 deaths

The number of coronavirus cases in the state of Louisiana has risen to 171 as of Tuesday morning.

Four deaths have been reported by the state so far.

12 parishes in Louisiana have reported cases. See the breakdown of those cases below:

Orleans Parish - 116

Jefferson - 31

St Tammany - 6

Caddo - 4

St. Charles - 3

Terrebonne - 3

Lafourche - 2

St. Bernard 2

Ascension -1

Bossier -1

St. John the Baptist - 1

Washington - 1

Washington Parish was added to the list on Tuesday with 1 case. Cases jumped to 116 in Orleans Pairsh and to 31 in Jefferson Parish.

The first death related to COVID-19 in the state was reported on Saturday. The 58-year-old Orleans Parish resident had underlying health conditions and was also being treated at Touro Infirmary Hospital and Medical Center.

A second death was reported on Sunday, March 15.

A third death, a person in their 80s was reported on Monday, March 16. That death was recorded at Lambeth House.
