Screening and testing for the coronavirus continues today at the Cajundome.

The site opened at 9:00 this morning following Lafayette leaders announcing last night two confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the parish.

So far, no word on how many people have been screened or tested today.

The operation at the Cajundome is a drive-thru. While shooting, we noticed some cars leave after stopping at one station and others continue to a different spot at the Cajundome to be tested.

On Wednesday, nearly 300 people were screened. 91 people tested for the flu and only two tested positive for the flu. 89 people were tested for COVID-19. Results will take seven to ten days to come back.

Today, healthcare professionals are not testing for the flu at the Dome, they're only testing for the coronavirus.

LCG is asking you to call 311 before showing up at the Cajundome. You will be pre-screened to see if you need to go to the Cajundome for an in-person screening and test.

LCG will give an update at 2:30 on the status of COVID-19 in the Parish.
