OPELOUSAS — After being closed for over a year construction is finally underway on the Judson Walsh bridge.
The bridge was closed indefinitely in the fall of 2018 after an inspection showed it was severely eroded.
The bridge, sitting between I-49 and LA-182, was heavily used by residents, school buses and other drivers.
The construction is scheduled to be completed by the middle of 2020.
