MORGAN CITY, La. – Conditions are continuing to worsen across Acadiana as Hurricane Delta makes its way inland.
Friday afternoon, KATC’s Abby Breidenbach traveled to Morgan City to show us the strong winds and large waves at Lake End Park.
Breidenbach described the waves as “insane.” Residents in the area told her that Lake Palourde is normally pretty still, so it was a strange sight.
Breidenbach also noted that the winds were so strong that you could lean into them and the gusts would hold you up.
At the time, around 2:49 p.m., there wasn’t a whole lot of rain in the area, but that is expected to change throughout the evening as Delta makes landfall.
