Cloudy nights, sunny afternoons and little change in sight

The weather's not going to do a whole lot changing over the next several days, in fact it'll be about a week before we start to notice any changes in the area.

There's a reason behind the still forecast though, and that's because the main, large scale weather pattern has gotten blocked up.

This happens from time to time, a ridge of high pressure will get sandwiched between two lows and creates what is known as an "Omega Block."

Clouds will return to the forecast in the overnight hours going into Friday, and fog will start to roll in from the Gulf of Mexico through commute time.

Temperatures are expected to drop into the low to mid 60s, and highs will continue to push the upper 70s and may even hit 80 over the weekend.

This pattern of cloudy nights and mornings, followed by pleasant afternoons will continue through the rest of the week, weekend, and likely the majority of next week.

Such is life living under an Omega Block.
