The forecast continues to be a little up and down with another round of showers on the way late Tuesday night and a clearing of the skies on the way for the end of the week.

Tuesday's forecast will remain on the dreary side with only a few patches of sunshine possible in the morning before clouds take over in the afternoon ahead of Acadiana's next front.

The showers will be light and scattered at first popping up in western Acadiana in the afternoon and becoming more numerous as they move east well after sunset and into Wednesday morning.

Clouds are expected to linger through a majority of the day on Wednesday but gradual clearing could lead to a cold night headed into early Thursday morning.

Temperatures in the meantime will be in the mid 50s Tuesday afternoon, and lows will drop into the mid 40s with cold air filtering in behind the front.

Winds will be picking up once the front has passed so the windchill on Wednesday will likely be in the upper 30s.
