The mother, father and grandmother of a two-month-old infant have been arrested, accused by Calcasieu Parish deputies of neglecting the baby and smoking illegal narcotics in the home.

The baby was in a dirty home with no running water, food or formula. She was dirty and wearing a soiled diaper, and had diaper rash so severe that the diaper had to be removed by a paramedic. She had sores on her body and was malnourished, deputies say.

Deputies arrested her mother, Crystal Roberts, 37; her father, Herbert Thibodeaux Jr., 34; and her grandmother Anthonette Thibodeaux, 58. They all allegedly admitted to smoking synthetic marijuana near the child. A search of their home turned up drugs, deputies allege.

The mother and father were eached booked with second-degree cruelty to a juvenile, illegal use of drugs near a juvenile, possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. The grandmother was booked with illegal use of drugs near a juvenile and possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Bond for the mother was set at $16,000. Bond for the father was set at $8,500 and bond for the grandmother was set at $6,000.

The infant was taken to a local hospital for treatment and was put in the custody of Department of Child & Family Services.

CPSO Deputy Chelsey Gault was the arresting officer on this case and CPSO Detectives Shelley Trahan and Ben Hare are the lead investigators on this case.
