UPDATE: The victim in the Oct. 21 homicide in Lake Charles is 16 years old, not 17 years old. The Lake Charles Police Department has corrected this error.
The victim from Wednesday night's homicide has been identified as Jacquez Jones, 17, of Lake Charles.
On October 21, at 11:02 PM, the Lake Charles Police Department responded to a 911 call of a shooting in the area of Anita Drive and 6th Street, according to a spokesperson for the Department. Upon arrival, officers discovered Jones dead as a result of being shot.
