Lake Charles Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened about 1 a.m. on Monday.
Officers were called to the Suffolk Manor Apartments for a burglary and shooting.
They found that a person broke into an apartment and was shot by the person living there. The person who was shot later died, police say.
Police are continuing their investigation of the circumstances, a spokesman said.
