CALCASIEU PARISH, La. - A man accused of rape, threatening to evade arrest by traveling to Mexico has been arrested.

On Sunday, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office detectives received a complaint in reference to Patrick R. Sanner, 52, of Sulphur, raping a juvenile under the age of 13, according to Kayla Vincent, spokesperson for the Office.

Later the same day after further investigation, detectives issued a warrant for Sanner's arrest in the amount of $2 million signed by Judge Clayton Davis.

After detectives learned Sanner threatened to travel to Mexico to avoid being arrested, detectives requested assistance from federal agencies, and he was located the following day in Texas near the Mexican border.

Sanner was arrested and booked into the Cameron County Jail in Brownsville, Texas where he is awaiting an extradition hearing, Vincent stated.

He is charged with first degree rape; and sexual battery.
