KPLC was heavily damaged by Hurricane Laura, and to help out Louisiana Public Broadcasting will be airing nightly updates at 5:55 p.m.
"With cellular service affected and widespread power outages, broadcast television is the only way many storm victims may be getting important information," says LPB President Beth Courtney. "We are pleased to be able to provide this vital service for Louisiana residents."
The news stories will broadcast weeknights on LPB between 5:55 pm and 6:00 pm.
"We are fortunate to have a partner like Louisiana Public Broadcasting, that can help us reach our audience as we work to recover from this storm and minimize impacts to those affected," said John Ware, Station Manager of KPLC [kplctv.com] in Lake Charles.
