A 37-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an alleged assault and robbery Thursday in Lake Charles.
Lake Charles Police say the incident happened around 8:00 am on Thursday, August 15 in the 300 block of Mill Street. Officers say that the suspect, identified as Horace Van Stevens, had allegedly physically assaulted a 67-year-old man before robbing him of cash and other personal items.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Officers say that a short time after the robbery, Stevens returned to the scene of the crime. He was arrested and booked on a charge of 2nd degree robbery.
No bond has been set at this time.
