Police in Lake Charles are searching for a vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident on Tuesday night.
On Tuesday July 21st 2020 at 11:18pm, police were called to the intersection of Louisiana Highway 14 and Interstate 210 in reference to an auto-pedestrian crash underneath an overpass.
Officers say that an investigation found that the pedestrian was walking across the roadway in the northbound lanes of Highway 14 when he was struck by a metallic silver or white colored “dually” pick-up truck. After the pedestrian was struck, police say the driver of the pick-up truck did not stop and kept driving north on Highway 14.
The pedestrian was transported by ambulance to a local hospital but later succumbed to the injuries.
An investigation is ongoing.
