Lake Charles man accused of 14th Street homicide

A 60-year-old Lake Charles man is accused of homicide.

On September 24, 2020, the Lake Charles Police Department was notified of a shooting in the 1600 block of 14th Street at 6:00 PM. A male victim sustained one gunshot wound to the chest and was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries, according to a spokesperson for the Department.

During the course of the investigation, it was learned by detectives that James Snider was allegedly responsible for the shooting.

Snider was arrested on charges of second degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was booked into the Calcasieu Parish Jail on a $1.275 million bond set by Judge Michael Canaday.

The victim was identified as 36-year-old, Jon Lee, of Lake Charles.
