Four Texas men accused of robbing jewelry store in Lake Charles

Four men from Texas have been arrested in connection with the armed robbery of a Lake Charles jewelry story on Monday.

Police say the robbery occurred around 1:44 p.m. At Nederland Jewelers on Nelson Road. Four suspects now identified as 30-year-old Johnson Moore, 22-year-old Tervione James Terry, 30-year-old Joshua Terrell Evans, and 28-year-old Cary Nimmons, all of Texas, allegedly entered the store and committed a "smash and grab."

Lake Charles Police say that during the robbery, glass cases within the store were destroyed and numerous items of jewelry were stolen. It was later discovered the suspects were armed while robbing the store.

Following the robbery law enforcement received information that the suspects were in the area of the 400 block of Maple Street. Officers were able to locate and arrest all four suspects. In addition, Officers recovered the stolen merchandise, valued in excess of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Below are the suspects and their charges:

  • Johnson Moore of Houston - Charged with armed robbery, armed robbery, use of a firearm, possession of firearm by a convicted felon, and resisting an officer. Moore's bond totals $1.26 million.
  • Trevione James Terry of Houston - Charged with armed robbery, armed robbery, use of a firearm, and possession of firearm by a convicted felon. Terry's bond totals $1.15 million.
  • Joshua Terrell Evans of Katy, Texas, - Charged with armed robbery, armed robbery, use of a firearm, and possession of firearm by a convicted felon. Evans' bond totals $1.25 million.
  • Cary Nimmons of Houston - Charged with armed robbery, armed robbery, use of a firearm, and possession of firearm by a convicted felon. Nimmons bond totals $1.15 million.
