State Police say that drivers should expect heavier than normal delays on I-10 West due to the approach of Hurricane Delta.
The westbound lanes from Lake Charles to the Texas State line are experiencing a heavy volume of traffic at this time.
DOTD says that drivers should use I-49N to I-20W as an alternate route.
Motorists are asked to be aware of their surroundings. Troopers advise them to not become distracted and drive with care.
Motorists traveling on I-10 West out of the state can visit 511la.org or use the 511 app for updates and traffic.
