The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury says that residential garbage collection routes are running behind schedule due to the tremendous volume of waste.

They say that due to that volume Waste Management trucks are filling rapidly.

Customers with Wednesday pickups were missed on September 9 and will instead be picked up Thursday, September 10.

Thursday's collection routes are also running behind and the Police Jury says that trucks may not reach all customers until Friday, September 11.

Waste Management will run routes on Saturday to make up missed locations, they say.

Calcasieu Parish residents in unincorporated areas (including Ward 1) whose homes have not been picked up by noon on the day following their scheduled day may call Calcasieu Parish Public Works at 337-721-3700.
