A front has moved through Acadiana abruptly cutting off the warm temperatures we got to enjoy on Thursday, and instead leaving chilly weather across the region.

There will be plenty of sunshine through the end of the work week and the weekend, but even without the cloud cover temperatures will sit predominantly in the 50s.

Winds will be whipping around at a pretty good clip coming out of the north around 15-20 mph, and gusts are going to pushing between 25-30 mph.

Strong winds like that are going to be responsible for a wind chill down in the upper 40s/low 50s through the day on Friday, so it will feel much colder than what the thermometer may be reading.

The rest of the weekend may not be as windy but the temperatures aren't going to warm up much over the next couple of days, in fact, lows the next couple night will be getting down close to freezing.

A quick glance into next week's forecast shows a much warmer set up that could lead to some unsettled weather by the end of next week.
