and last updated

A Back to School PPE supply giveaway was on Saturday at Northside High School in Lafayette.

The event was held from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.

Anyone, from any school in the area, was able to visit the drive-thru giveaway and get supplies before they head back to school. Supplies included masks and hand sanitizer.

It's all a way to make sure students are protected when they return.

"This is one other obstacle or barrier that we have to get over in order for our students to be successful in the classroom," explained Brandi Clay, founder of The Educational Dreamer (EDD) Series. "We want them to succeed academically, but we need to make sure they are physically safe. That's the reason we had the PPE drive - to make sure the students have the necessary equipment to keep them safe on campus."
