Across Acadiana, Hurricane Laura caused damage to homes, flooded streets, and knocked down trees.
In Iberia Parish, water rose along Bull Island Road. Over in Jeff Davis Parish, the storm knocked down trees in the Jennings area, causing power lines to dangle.
Some areas in Vermilion Parish were under mandatory evacuations ahead of Laura. Places like Pecan Island and Intracoastal Highway were called to evacuate, for fear the storm could be similar to Hurricane Rita.
Video of flooding in Erath shows City Park almost completely underwater around 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning.
And over in Lafayette Parish, trees and branches were found knocked down in River Ranch.
We've heard from residents all over Lafayette, some in Lafayette reporting street flooding, some reporting downed trees. Yet some areas, completely spared, showing just how hit or miss things were with Hurricane Laura.
