Courtney Gerald Elkins stopped by GMA to talk about the Fight for Alzhemeir's First Survivor.
On Saturday, September 28, hundreds will join the Alzheimer's Association of Louisiana to march the grounds of Zoosiana Lafayette in the fight against Alzheimer's.
Close to 700 participants and 78 teams have already registered to take part in the march. It begins Saturday at 9:30 am.
Proceeds from the event will go towards the Alzheimer's Association's goal to eliminate Alzheimer's Disease through advanced research.
Around one third of the Associations $133,000 goal has been raised so far.
Those interested in registering can do so online at the Alzheimer's Association of Louisiana's website.
Individuals can also register at the event on Saturday beginning at 8:00 am. Monetary donations will also be accepted.
Opening ceremonies begin at 9:00 am with the walk starting at 9:30 am.
