Catholic Charities of Acadiana is hosting a roof tarping and debris clearing event on Saturday, October 31st to assist those impacted by Hurricane Delta.
The organization needs individuals and teams of volunteers to help this Saturday in applying tarps to damaged roofs and clearing debris from yards.
“Since landfall of Hurricane Delta, we’ve had over 1,000 homes that have requested assistance, mostly in the Lafayette area” said Jodee Ware, director of Rebuilding Together Acadiana and Catholic Charities of Acadiana Disaster Response. “Between tarping rooftops and working to remove storm debris from yards, we have a lot of work to do. We are asking the community to help us in our ongoing response to those who are in most need.”
Interested volunteers are asked to RSVP by 10:00am on Friday, October 30th by 10:00am by emailing disaster@catholiccharitiesacadiana.org. Catholic Charities of Acadiana staff. More detailed instructions will be given by Rebuilding Together Acadiana staff to those who offer volunteer their assistance, including work site addresses and necessary items to bring.
