Today marks the 62nd anniversary of one of the most devastating events in Louisiana history.
On this date in 1957, Hurricane Audrey hit the southwestern part of the state, devastating Cameron and Vermilion Parishes. Audrey is the deadliest June storm on record, killing more than 400 people.
