The Vermilion Parish School System is partnering with the chamber of commerce and the Vermilion Economic Development Alliance to increase the education levels of parish residents.
The effort is called 55 by 25, which references the goal of raising the percent of population in the parish with some form of secondary education certification to 55 percent by 2025.
The launch event was held at Abbeville High School Wednesday morning.
