The town of Erath came out in numbers on Friday night for their 7th annual lighting of the tree. Santa Clause even came a little early for the children to express their Christmas wishes.
Mayor-Elect, Taylor Mencacci, says this is something the people of Erath look forward to every year.
“We get a tree donated and the fourth of July association donates all the lighting, all the lighting in town, and the town workers work hard for a few weeks putting all these lights up and it makes it a great event,” Mencacci said.
The lights consisted of all things Christmas, but the event would not have been complete without a visit from Santa and pictures to make memories.
Old and younger generations look forward to the event every year.
“It’s great. Being that this is a small town and this is about as big as it gets, this is a great way to express the Christmas spirit,” one Erath resident expressed.
Locals say a little rain didn’t stop them from enjoying the event and they look forward to it for all the years to come.
