The Kaplan Police Department has new, upgraded equipment.
The department replaced two older units with new cars and will be using a grant to buy new body cameras.
Officers also received eight new portable radios, thanks to a donation from Louisiana Radio Systems.
“It’s always good to have somebody that’s willing to help law enforcement. Nowadays, they really get a bad name. It’s good that some of the companies still care about our well-being because those portables save our lives,” said Chief Joshua Hardy.
