The power for SLEMCO customers has been restored after an outage in the Vermilion Parish area.
Spokeswoman Mary Laurent says the outage was caused by a fuse in the Gueydan substation. Crews were able to return power to customers within 6:00 pm hour.
Officials say the outage occurred within the 5:00 pm hour.
The outage was isolated to the Gueydan substation, officials say. About 962 customers with SLEMCO were without power as a result of that outage.
