Abbeville businesses and The Abbeville Police Department are working together to teach self-defense.
The free classes took place Wednesday night at Defense MMA in Abbeville.
More than 30 women and girls learned how to get away from an attacker and how to be aware of their surroundings.
The event was free and open to the public. Children were also welcome to attend.
