A group of unemployed workers visited regional offices of senators on Thursday to demand the continuation of unemployment benefits.

The unemployed workers visited the regional offices of Senators Bill Cassidy and John Kennedy. They were there to demand an extension of the $600 dollar unemployment benefits.

This week the senate proposed a lower unemployment benefits number. The cuts would leave those unemployed workers with $200 per week, if approved.

The groups is asking for the extension of $600 per week to continue throughout the pandemic.
