If you're a fan of the movie Easy Rider, then there is good news for you. Two parishes in Louisiana will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the release of the movie.

Both St. Mary and Pointe Coupee parishes are featured in the film which stars Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper, and Jack Nicolson.

In St. Mary Parish, downtown Franklin will be transformed to look like movie scenes while holding a screening of the iconic movie and much more on August 24, 2019.

In Point Coupee Parish, the Morganza's 50th Anniversary Easy Rider Festival will take place. The famous motorbikes "Captain America" and "Billy Bike" that the actors rode in the movie were custom built just for the film. In tribute and honor of the Easy Rider bike designers, a custom motorcycle contest will take place at Morganza's 50th Anniversary Easy Rider Festival to be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019.
