Lafayette, LA - The Brees Dream Foundation and Junior Achievement of Acadiana have partnered to help high school students turn their "Big Ideas" into reality with Trust Your Crazy Ideas Challenge. The Trust Your Crazy Ideas Challenge State Finals is an opportunity for high school students to take their entrepreneurial ideas to the next level. The Acadiana Big Pitch will take place virtually on Thursday, May 28th 2020 at 1pm via Zoom. Registration can be found by clicking here.
Judges representing Acadiana for the event are: Matt Stuller, Founder and CEO Stuller Inc and John Bordelon, President and CEO of Home Bank.
There are four semi- finalist teams comprised of students from Lafayette, New Orleans, North Louisiana and Baton Rouge. All team members attended accelerated "Operation Shark" workshops designed to refine their business ideas and perfect their pitch. The teams, their mentors from the business community have worked very have to prepare for this moment!
The Big Pitch winner will receive $10,000.00 for continuing education funds, and their school will receive $5,000.00, 2 runners up will receive $2,500.00 in continuing education funds. The state champion's school (the school attended by the winning team) will receive $5,000.00 to utilized for student activities. All continuing education funds are provided by the Brees Dream Foundation.
