A Ville Platte man has been arrested and booked following a vehicle pursuit through three parishes Thursday.
State Police Troop D says that they located and arrested 38-year-old Jowarski Captain after he left the alleged stolen vehicle he was driving near La Hwy 27 and Hackett Road.
Captain was located in a field at around 12:15 pm and taken into custody in Cameron Parish. He was then transported to Calcasieu Parish for booking and is currently in the Calcasieu Correctional Center.
Trooper Derek Senegal with Troop D says that the pursuit began in Lake Charles around 10:49 am on Thursday after the driver of the vehicle failed to stop. State Police had spotted the vehicle, a white pickup, after reports of it being stolen.
Senegal says that Captain allegedly fled on I-10 East into Jeff Davis Parish before heading back into Calcasieu Parish. Troopers reported speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour at times. The pursuit ended along Hwy 27 in Northern Cameron Parish at Hackett Road. Captain then fled into a field but was later found.
Captain has been booked on the following charges:
Illegal possession of stolen things
Aggravated flight
Simple criminal damage to property
Resisting arrest
No drivers license
State Police say they received help from a number of law enforcement teams including the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office, the CPSO Air Support and K-9 Unit, Cameron Parish Sheriff's Office and K-9 unit along with Lake Charles Police Department.
