St. Mary/ Vermilion Community Action Agency taking appointments for utility assistance program

The St Mary / Vermilion Community Action Agency is currently taking appointments for their utility assistance program for eligible residents.

The agency announced Monday that they will begin taking appointments for utility assistance at 8:30. -1:00pm on Tuesday January 19, 2021.

Appointments will be taken on Tuesday and Wednesday until all appointments are filled. If you live in St Mary Parish call (337) 828-5703/5705. If you live in Vermilion Parish call (337) 893-2528.

Documents needed are
1. I.D. In everyone 18 and older
2. Social Security Cards for everyone in household.
3. Proof of income for 2020, if check stubs need last four consecutive checks
4. Gas and Light bills—1-6 mon
Must bring gas bills if your household heats with gas
5. Proof of residence—water, cable, telephone, must have name and street address on it
6. If rent need lease or rental agreement

The agency asks that if the line is busy, keep trying." We only have so many appointments to take so it will be on a first call first serve basis."
