The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office says that the Highway 182 Bridge over the Atchafalaya River in Berwick is now open to traffic.
The bridge was closed temporarily on Wednesday morning after the west stanchion was struck by a tugboat pushing six barges down the river.
DOT was on scene to assess the damage.
The bridge is now OPEN, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
