Two arrested, attempted to solicit sex from teen in Morgan City

Two men were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department following an investigation into possible online exploitation of minors.

Police say the department uncovered information indicating that two individuals were actively utilizing the internet and social media to solicit a 15-year-old for sex.

Over the course of an investigation, police say they were able to recover evidence, identify, and secure arrests warrants for the individuals.

Those individuals, identified by police as 40-year-old Jeremy M. Harrison of Bayou Vista and 53-year-old Caffery Joseph Williams, were arrested after attempting to rendezvous with the victim at a location in Morgan City. Both men were met by detectives and arrested upon their arrival at the location.

Harrison was arrested and booked by police on Friday, January 18 on a warrant for Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor and Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile. Williams was arrested on Tuesday, January 22 on a warrant for Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor and Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile.

Both Harrison and Williams were booked into the Morgan City Jail.

The Morgan City Police Department says they are actively participating and contributing to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force along with the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office.
